It’s not over until it’s over

I am going through some rough times right now, and I ran across something President Barack Obama said in his last couple days as president: “…the only thing that is the end of the world is the end of the world.”  Wow – that really speaks to me right now. I think it is the same thought as “it’s not over until it’s over.” You know – that is really right, and it certainly puts some of my current issues into perspective.

I am going to take some of my own advice and realize that letting go of something is not the same as giving up on it. It may be time to move on from some things. My life is not over just because something has changed. That goes for the broader picture of what’s going on in this country right now as well as the more immediate picture of what is going on in my life right now.

It is important to work to make the country, and indeed the world, a better and safer place for everyone. Don’t give up on it! I believe it can and will happen, though I am in no position to even guess WHEN it will happen. In the meantime, I will do my part, however small it seems. And I will start by taking care of me, because that is where everything starts – with each individual.
