Minneapolis protests

I wish I could say that I don’t believe it, but I do. I do believe that there are people out there who will do evil things, like kill other people just because they can. I do believe there are people out there who will start a righteous protest, and watch it get out of hand and become violent. I do believe there are people out there who will take advantage of situations, such as peaceful protests, to cause violence.

But I also have to believe that there are an awful lot of good people out there, people who really do want to peacefully protest injustice. I believe there are good people who do not want to see violence in our streets. I believe there are people who want to end all this crap about the color of other people’s skin.

I believe there is much more good than bad in the world, but the bad sure seems to be prevalent right now. And while I understand the frustration that can cause people to get violent, I do not and cannot condone it. Change is hard and takes a long time. I understand that this change around the color of people’s skin has been around for a very long time, and that it is getting very difficult to wait patently for it to come. I understand the need for disruption, because it sure seems like disruption is what moves us forward sometimes. But I beg everyone involved, if disruption is what it is going to take, please let it remain disruption, and not devolve into violence. Violence is not the answer, it never is.

And while I hate to advocate more division, perhaps it is time to take side in this fight. It is time for us, as a country, to end this idiocy once and for all. WE ARE ALL ONE, and it is past time for is to act like it. What hurts one of us, hurts us all. It is time to realize that skin color just isn’t important, it is an indicator of how much melanin is in your skin, that is all. It does not indicate your value, your worthiness, your intellect, or anything else.

I am sending good energy for a peaceful resolution to this chaos.

I believe there are very very few people who believe in their hearts that violence is the answer, because all it does is beget more violence, and anyone who thinks and is honest with themselves knows that. And it was heartbreaking to watch how this protest turned violent yesterday.
I hope that one day a black person will not have to be afraid that every time they see a police officer that police officer might kill them for absolutely no reason. It must be terrifying to be a black person in this country. I will also send out good energy and hope that it will help in some way to heal this country right now. I agree, we are one, and one day I hope that we act together as a planet that loves everyone on the planet equally.
