It is full-fledged “war on Christmas” time. But I am here to tell you that you should say whatever you want to say. Wish me a Merry Christmas if you like. Tell me Happy Hanukkah. Encourage me to have a Good Solstice. Wish me a Fine whatever it is you celebrate. I don’t feel that you are trying to convert me just because you want me to enjoy the day.
I often mix Happy Holidays with Merry Christmas. It doesn’t mean that I want to do away with Christmas, but rather that I understand we are a nation of varied people and celebrations. I want everyone to have a great day every day.
So say what you want. I appreciate anyone wanting me to have a great day, whatever that day is.
