Take care of your strong friends

Take care of your friends, especially the ones you think of as strong enough to weather anything. Everyone reaches their breaking point at some time or another; be there for them. The thing that is the last straw for someone may seem absurd to you, but you don’t know everything else that has happened before that last straw came. It may seem silly to you, but it is probably deadly serious to them – at least at the time.

I am going through a lot of stuff right now, and I am so grateful for the people who check up on me, and make sure I am okay. I go through life trying to be low-maintenance, and sometimes that means that I am better to others than I am to myself. Even if I don’t dump everything I am feeling on someone who asks, it means a lot to me to know that someone is aware enough to ask how I am.

I can’t do a lot of things that I have always done, and sometimes it feels horrible. It is hard to go from the person who takes care of everyone else to the person who needs taking care of. And I am okay. I have a lot of people who look out for me, and ask me if I am okay. Everyone doesn’t have that. Pay attention to the people around you.
