We have a new president & vice president. The three branches of government are in the hands of the same political party. I don’t know that I think that is usually a good thing, but for now I think it may be a necessary step. It has been a while, but I seem to recall a time when good people of different beliefs would argue their points, and then compromise, thus bringing us closer to that elusive prize – a more perfect union. If that time ever really existed, I would like to get back to it. If it existed only in my mind, maybe it would be a good goal for the future.
I would like to see the people of the United States able to agree on facts, and argue about how to deal with those facts. Most things will not change overnight, and still I am hopeful.
