Today’s shootings

I am not even surprised that there are multiple shootings in one day – and that makes me sad. This is what is accepted as normal now – well, I refuse to think of it as normal. If we normalize this, we will never be able to stop it.

The shooting in DC really does grab my attention though. I am not condoning it in any way, but I have to ask the question: what did you think was going to happen? Our politics have gotten so entrenched in the “us vs. them” thing, that someone somewhere was bound to react this way. I understand the frustration with everything that is – or isn’t, really – happening in our nation’s capital. But come on people! This is NOT the way to get it fixed.

All the injured and their families and friends are in my heart, and I am sending healing energy to all involved. In addition, I am sending healing energy to our congress, in the hopes that we can repair what is broken and move forward. We are never going to agree on everything, but we should be able to agree to disagree, and get something done for the people of our great country.
