Health Insurance

Let’s just call a spade a spade, and realize that the only thing health insurance is for is to make health insurance companies rich.

This is how it feels: if I need it, or it would help me in any way, my insurance will deny it. They paid for my drug for about 7 years, and then decided to take it off their formulary and not pay for it anymore. It works for me; I get no side effects from it. So it must be medically unnecessary for me now, right? Or at least, that’s what they say.

I wish I had no idea of what they are doing, but it sure seems pretty apparent. They are maximizing their profits by paying little or nothing out for me (and likely most, if not all, of their customers.

When are we going to get a clue? Health insurance is nothing but a way for health insurers (and their owners and investors) to make money. I swear it looks like this is how they operate: turn down every claim they can, ignoring the fact that people die when they can’t get appropriate medical care (they don’t care, as long as they get their  money). Then they apparently pick either someone at random, or someone high profile, so they think they will get credit, and go ahead and pay for their care. Their hope appears to be that people will then believe that they actually do give a crap about people’s lives, even though everything else they do shows that they don’t care about anything but making money.

I am tired of this BS, and hope we (as a country) get wise to it pretty soon, and shut them all down.

As my father used to say: may the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits!
