Don’t assume that you know other’s motivation

Could we please all be nice to each other – especially right now when so many are hurting. It really does not help to belittle other’s choices at this point. There are a lot of people out there trying to figure out what comes next and how they can help. They are doing the best they can. Their choices may not be the same as yours; that is okay and as it should be. We are a nation of many, many people and we do not all think alike. Please feel free to bring up your concerns about things people are doing, but you do not really know their motivation, so please stop pretending that you do. There are a lot of things that we can do collectively to try to make people feel safer, and in fact maybe BE safer. As far as I know, there may be problems with every single one of them – that doesn’t mean that we should give up and go home. So go ahead and bring up the issues, maybe they have not been thought of yet. But please don’t assume that you know my (or anyone else’s) heart – you don’t.
